And feeling pretty triumphant, I´m sure I remember the Montes de Oca being harder than that.

Tosantos last night was wonderful, the two hospitaleros were absolutely fantastic and I left this morning feeling as if I´d actually slept (they even had mint tea!!!). Both Tosantos and grañon always seem to make me happy.

I´m in part of the cradle of civilisation, where numerous stone age relics were found, unfortunately I´m a little late to view them, still it does make one think about the Camino and how long there have been humans along this route.

I´m really not feeling the 24 odd kilometers I did today, which is a good sign because I can remember this part knocking me out last time.

Love you all

Anna

Good to hear it is all going so well.. are you in the albergue with the wonderful pieced together wooden ceiling.. reminded me of the house of the seven dwarves?

Actually I wound up in a very new albergue with wonderful showers and a teeny little kitchen. I looked a little for the other albergue but I couldn´t find it.

I hated the Montes de Oca! I had been really looking forward to the climb but all I saw was mist... then there was that huge big long flat bit at the top I wasn't expecting, along a (very muddy at the time!) forestry road... But I loved the descent down into Ages. And 'next time" I am going to make sure I hang around in Atapuerca until 10am to actually see that visitor's centre. I hated being so near to those very early human remains, and yet being still 'so far'.

Granon remains one of my favourite albergue memories.

This time I had perfect autumn weather for it which really helped. Blue skies and a bit of a chill in the air, I think that made all the difference
